WHERE IT BEGAN

A sound I
grew up with.

The erhu is a traditional Chinese musical instrument that I have been playing for almost a decade. I love this instrument because my grandmother played it to me when I was a kid, and I have long enjoyed playing and sometimes performing different erhu pieces that capture various vibes or feelings — the excitement of seeing horses racing on a vast grassland, the peacefulness of walking along a rainy river bank, or the pain of one’s country being tormented by war.

ORIGINAL MUSIC

A little of
my own world.

Recently I have also started to create my own music with erhu to capture what I feel in my own life, which feels like a full circle moment.
